Zoom Needs Your Help

Zoom is a 9 years old Holland Lop. His owner was moving to a place where she couldn’t have pets. FUR doesn’t take in rabbits from the public but rescues from the shelter because the rabbits at the shelter are in danger of being euthanized. We just couldn’t let this 9 year old bunny be taken to the shelter. Losing the only home he’s known for the last 9 years we think was stress enough for this fella. He didn’t need more stress by going to the shelter. So we took him in.

We found out today that Zoom needs dental work. He has major abscesses and his teeth top and bottom teeth will need to be removed.  The cost is going to be extensive to remove the abscessed teeth. We want him to live out his elderly years free of pain. To get him out of pain he will need the abscessed teeth removed. Just imagine if you were living with teeth that were abscessed down to the root.

Malocclusion is such a very easy fix but if you don’t take care of it then you end up with a situation like Zoom is in where he now has several abscessed teeth. We need prayers for this little bun. We will need help from you to help pay for the treatment and surgery he is going to need.

The plan, is to take the incisors out, but not doing any major work as long as he is eating. Cleaning out the rest of his mouth by manually clearing out the pus. We can treat him with penicillin injections and apply the ofloxacin drops to his eyes. We can continue to do supportive care. This is the treatment plan that we will go with to make Zoom more comfortable. We are hopefully the penicillin injections will help to clear up the abscesses.

Zoom’s medical expenses are currently estimated at $400.00. There is no doubt that the cost will increase above this amount. If you would like to make a tax deductible donation toward his care, please make an online donation by clicking below or mail a check made payable to TEAM-FUR and mail it to PO Box 882 Folsom, CA 95763 donate here
