Cupid

Cupid was in a shelter in Southern California. He had been dumped at the shelter on 11/23/2013. He was labeled as aggressive and the shelter was scheduled to euthanize him on February 7, 2014.

A massive plea asking for someone to rescue or adopt this dear rabbit flooded social media. FUR worked together with Bunny World Foundation to get the rabbit out of the shelter. The rabbit was listed as a neutered male but upon pulling him from the shelter it was discovered that he clearly was not neutered. We normally do not assist shelters this far away but our hearts went out to Cupid and we didn’t want to see him euthanized. He was clearly mislabeled as an aggressive rabbit when he had no signs of aggression.

Everyone that has handled this dear rabbit all say how sweet and friendly he is. He was affectionately named Cupid because he made us all fall in love with him.

We put out a request asking for help transporting Cupid to Folsom. It so happened at the time that Susan from the National House Rabbit Society happened to be in Southern California and was able to pick up him up and drive him to Richmond. Our Volunteer James picked him up from Susan’s house and drove him to Folsom.

Cupid doesn’t show any signs of aggression. He is a very loving rabbit who loves to be pet. We had him neutered  and will be sending down his neutered certificate and a signed statement from our Vet to the County shelter in Southern CA so that they are sure to not adopt out rabbits thinking they are altered when they are not.

Cupid is currently in foster care and is available for adoption. He is a real joy to have around and will make someone a wonderful house pet.
